Entity dimension in BPC RTC

Hi all,

I am working in a RTC environment which was set-up by someone else. They have included the ERP/ENTITY dimension (BPC type entity) and also the ERP/COMPCODE dimension (BPC type user defined). We are on BW 753 and S/4HANA 1809.

According to the documentation I have seen, I would only need ERP/ENTITY and not both. Is that correct or do I need both? And if so, what do I need ERP/COMPCODE for?

Thanks,
Arnold

Sorry, but to my mind the error was done during initial RTC setup! For sure, only one Entity dimension have to be used.

Hi Vadim,

yes, because the client uses manual journals and was told to select the same elements in ERP/ENTITY and ERP/COMPCODE when posting those. However, it is not used for any kind of analysis or in any rule.

In fact, the whole questions came up because having the dimension means more work (needs to be selected) without benefit. Essentially we would like to know if we could set-up a system without it.

Thanks,
Arnold

This is the compcode dimension

And this is the entity dimension

So the elements are essentially the same. The entity dimension includes the properties I would expect from a BPC standard point of view.

My question was - how this user defined dimension is used in BPC model? Do you have data against members?
