Hello People,
I am facing an issue trying rebuild some EVDRE reports using EPM.
These EVDRE reports have drill down functionality on "local members" who are linked to the Row members.
Simple example:
ROWs:
Hidden ENTITY1 ¦ Visible "Local member refers to hidden ENTITY1 with a condition"
Hidden ENTITY2 ¦ Visible "Local member refers to hidden ENTITY2 with a condition"
So at the end I will have something like:
(Hidden) Europe ¦ Europe ↓
(Hidden) Asia ¦ Asia ↓
EVDRE will Drill down in both of the (Hidden Europe & Europe ↓)
EPM will drill down or expand Only in the First one (Hidden Europe)
If i double click in the "Europe ↓" lt shows the formula, meanwhile in EVDRE it expands (drill down to the next level)
Do you know a different approach on how to handle this (not using macros), maybe I am Missing any option?
Many thanks in advance.
Request clarification before answering.
Hello Robert
Can you post a sample workbook based on EnvironmentShell using the two functions/examples?

Hello Stefan,
I can't access to the environment shell at the moment.
Here is a simple example of what I am trying to say:
You can only drill down in (hidden Row member Entity)
I want to hide the Yellow row part.
In EVDRE, you can drill down in both columns. (hidden + Local Visible Entity) so I can Hide the yellow row part.
Don't know if there is any approach to be used in EPM as in EVDRE.
Regards
Hi Robert,
What does your local member do? Is it just a description or formula?
In your evDRE, the "Local Visible Entity", is that just the Description (evDES) or is that part of BeforeRange / AfterRange ?
Can you attach a simple example in evDRE and EPM Add-in using EnvironmentShell
I don't think you have the option to drill down on local members ...
Thanks,
I will try to connect @ Home and do it in my local machine.
In EVDRE we don't need the local member, as you know EVDRE automatically drag the formula down with the rows.
This is just a formula formula next to the last row
which it value/Result = A row member, so you can drill down.
I've seen this kind of reports a lot, you expand the EVDRE in another hidden place and the Real BPC report is linked to the hiden EVDRE.
In the EPM you can only drill down in the Row member.
and I can not put conditions in the EPMOlapMemberO Descripttion, without making a circular reference...
= EPMOlapMemberO("[ENTITY].[H1].[China]";"";"China";"";"000")
Thanks for your reply
Hi Robert,
It looks like to me that what you are doing is designating the member as "drillable" by adding a down arrow. Have you considered using EPM's dynamic formatting to do this rather than a local member? If not an arrow, could it be a different color or something else? You would do this in the label column on the right-and side. You would need to define both the default and base member formatting. I can provide further details if you need them.
