Dear SAP Experts,
I would like to ask about use of languages options in administration section in SAP DM (stack 1900). Concerning null value, the following are the possible options to use:
A customer of us needs to use None because it chose to show blank cells in its tables. This originates an issue using SAP DM to produce the ESEF iXBRL: the none value does not retain the tag so this validation error is showed, [ESEF.3.4.6.UsableConceptsNotAppliedByTaggedFacts] All usable concepts in extension taxonomy relationships MUST be applied by tagged facts.
I tried to use non-breaking hyphen, which is very similar in the layout output, but it does not work. Is it possible to use none value in null cells and to retain ESEF tags?
Thanks,
Andrea

Hello a.migliore, I'm afraid you can't tag nothing as a value. This would mean that no value is tagged, when in fact you most probably mean zeros in that place. You can take a look at the presentation from FRC Lab (official partner of FCA, ESEF regulator in the UK) where they recommend to: "Tag zeros and tag dashes that represent zero – we have seen many zeros and dashes with a meaning of zero that were not tagged. Inline XBRL has a mechanism to allow such tagging."
If you're still keen on keeping the view of the financial statements with "empty" cells, you can try using "non-breaking hyphen" with the white font. However, please note that in this case you'll need to keep rechecking the "hidden" cells in case the value would be different from zero.
