Difference between EPMOlapMemberO and EPMOlapMemberC

Dear BPC Experts,

Can somebody please shed some light on what is the difference between these formulas and use of EPMOlapMemberC in reporting situations. The documentation  only talks about caption retrieval but I am not clear how this can be used in practical reporting scenarioes.

I have used EPMOlapMemberO for creating asymmetric reports where the columns are fixed.

Better to read the more detailed explanation given in help on page no. 60 for understanding the difference

EPMOlapMemberC is used only in the case of Large Volumes Local Connections! Both the functions act in the same way!
