Derivation of control objects - Not called from FMBB (Budgeting workbench)

When posting an actual or commitment document, SAP is making a call to control object derivation rule and based on our rules its correctly determining the control object for AVC.

Though when we post budget in FM-BCS module via FMBB, this derivation rule is not getting called at all.

I turned on the trace for control object derivation rule, posted a budget document.

derivation rule was not called.

I ran report FMAVCR01 and used the control object (which should be derived) and no data was selected.

I checked table entries in table FMAVCT and AVC ledger doesn't contain any entry for the posted budget.

This is very puzzling, any tips/suggestions...

We are not using budget structure in our implementation.

Is bugdet structure a pre-requisite for using control objects derivation ?

Closing this as i figured out that i was missing the configuration for "Define Filter Settings for Budget Values".

All good now.
