Debug GTS call to S/4

We have a GTS system which is updating a field in SAP S/4 MARA table . We need to debug the point where it is updating the field .

We can get the RFC name from our basis team .

But can somebody help us how to debug the RFC .

As far as i know these RFC will be triggered in background .

Is the S/4 an on-premises system or a Cloud system? That makes a big difference.

And what exactly do you mean with "triggered in the background"? Is it a qRFC or bgRFC? (Can be found out by checking the CALL FUNCTION statement in the GTS system.) qRFC and bgRFC is a bit more difficult to debug than sRFC and tRFC,
