Hi,

Our System details are SAP BPC 10.0 SP7 NW. EPM Add-in SP18. BW 7.3.,

We have a strange Problem. When we run the Consolidation, Data is not populating for a OCTOBER month with the GROUP scope. But when run the Consolidation for NOSCOPE, data was populated for all months. Checked all - Business Rules, Script Logic.... Everything seems OK. The same Consolidation was worked fine till Monday. We are facing this issue from Wednesday onwards.

Request you to guide me in two things:

1. How to Debug the Consolidation Package.

2. What would the reason for this and how to find it.

Am i missing anything to check. Any SAP note available for this type of Problem.

Thanks,

Sekhar.

Hi Sekhar

Work status checked? Any transports between Mo and We? Any manual changes? Any Notes installed (BW also)? Optimization run?

Regards

Hi all,

Thanks for your analysis. Yes, the rootcause of this is Manual changes done by a user.

Thanks,

Sekhar.

Hi Sekhar,

Your BPC SP is very old... May be you can upgrade for test?

I would rather start with EPM, it is easier and no Basis needed. To upgrade BPC SP probably first NW SP upgrade is needed, this causes new issues etc the usual story.

But consolidation issues are related to BPC SP in most cases... not to EPM

EPM has to be upgraded also!

When everything worked and suddenly broke the reason is usually not the pack/patch level, neither BPC nor EPM. And if TS system is already live and landscape has D-Q-P the upgrade cannot be simply made as a test. Possible only if they have a separate server for sandboxing.

"Possible only if they have a separate server for sandboxing." - yes, this is a correct way of doing things

The reason why I recommend upgrade is simple - I do not have an old system and recommendations relevant to the recent SP's can be useless or incorrect for old SP's.

How many companies with an additional BW system do you know? And with additional ERP (without BW confiruged)?

It is clear. But the reality is that by various number of reasons a lot of people use old software, OS and components, Office, SAP products... And sometimes "please upgrade" cannot be the solution even if it is the only correct way.
