Cube Security in SAP FC 10.1

How does security work when accessing cubes from Excel? Does anybody have a diagram of how a user is authenticated when accessing cubes directly from Excel. Not using EPM.

Getting this error when trying to connect to a SAP cube from Excel.

Dear Mike,

If you deploy SSAS Cubes with Cube Designer, there is a security component called UDF for security so BFC users can be mapped with their rights when connecting to the SSAS cubes deployed.

We basically support only this method and with EPM Addin as client, as users should always have the right security to view financial datas of the cubes.
