Cost center Budget similar to Fund Management

Hello Experts,

We were doing Budget control for Fund centers and commitment items using Funds Management, where there is functionality to have budget check at PR/PO, which are not account assigned ( Account assignment category Blank instead of F- orders or K- Cost centers)

Now, SAP introduced Cost center budgeting in S/4HANA 1909. We need budget check at Purchase Order and Purchase requisitions which are not account assigned. (ie. Account assignment category is blank).

Is this possible in the new Cost center budgeting process in S/4HAN without Funds management?

Expecting some response.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If your Purchase order is not assigned to a cost centre, how would you be able to check the budget on it?

Regards,

Eli

Hello Eli Klovski,

Thanks for the response. As mentioned in the first communication, we would like to use Cost center budgetary control functionality for PR and PO ( which are not account assigned (Account assignment category Blank).

Cost center field should be available to enter even though PR/PO is not account assigned. This is purely for Budget control purpose.

Please advise whether this functionality is possible in S/4HANA - Cost center budget process.

regards,

As mentioned above, in order to control budget on cost centre, the minimum you should ensure is to have this parameter in the document. Since your purchase order is not assigned to the relevant account assignment category and doesn't have a cost centre, I don't see exactly how you expect it to be done. Purchase order creates a commitment in Controlling (with proper customization) and this commitment has to be registered in a controlling object, e.g. cost centre, if you want to see it in the reports and/or control budget on it.
