Context lock changing

Hello Experts, i am facing weird problem with my report EPM context

I am trying to lock some context members which are to be fixed for a template and I see context automatically changes with lock intact. Please find below screenshot of the problem.

I am working EPM Verison 10.0 Service pack 21 patch 3.net

build 9160

Please let me know solution if anyone faced this behaviour earlier

Hello Praveen,

Even though if you are working with one template at time it will reflect if you change the context from other template also...

if you have multiple templates and if used =epmcontext function across the templates, it will automatically pick-up from the last/recent context change from the template which you worked recently..

in order to avoid this kind of things use =EPMSELECT function instead of context function.

P.S : verify the template currently your are working one is there any EPMcontext function is used or not.

Hello Reddy, can you please let me know how to use epm select member for one template. Ealier versions did not have this problem. May be this seems to be an issue with latest patch.

Hello Praveen,

I will give a small example..how to use the epmselectmember

          =EPMSelectMember(,"2015.TOTAL",,"TIME")

use the above function and double click on the respective cell, it will pop a screen for selection.

use EPM dimension override or give reference that cell in EPMOlapmemberO formula.

check the above one and upgrade .net 4 instead of 3

Hi Praveen,

I have also been facing the same issue.

In my case, if a report is saved with context dimension locked with some member value, dimension will get unlocked if any other user who does not have access to the selected member in that dimension  (EPM Context) opens the report. I am also using EPM Add-in version 10.0 SP21.

Hi Praveen,

Not yet, we have an incident opened with SAP. As a workaround, if we have to lock context dimensions in a report, we lock them with such members selected that users have access to (in data access profile). Then it will not unlock. In this case, we have to check user set for a particular report and their data access rights.

I am now thinking what if we hide these dimensions in context options. Anyway we are not letting users change them. I haven't tried it though.

Let me know if you find a solution to this issue.
