Concerning login timeout in SAP DM

Dear SAP Experts,

I would like to ask if there are some drowbacks in increase timeout in SAP DM (stack 2100). I refers to login timeout that you can increase in web config as described in note 2186797.

Some users of us log in at the morning in SAP DM website, then they open some files and they work in them all the day. They do not refresh the website session anymore, so after some times the session ends and they cannot save chapters like apply changes commands.

I image that you can increase timeout to 7-8 hours at least, but I am wondering if there are any problems increasing it.

Hello Mr. Migliore,

you do not need necessarily to increase the timeout , but it would not have any negative impact.
Except  security complains, as the session is longer useable.

You can also teach the users (who were logged out) to use the Refresh Session feature here:
