Comments on BPC Embedded 11.1 [Not working on nodes / pulling comments into cells]

Hi all,

We're looking to implement comments into a BPC 11.1 Embedded planning solution and had two questions

1. We followed the guidance here and set up a document store and got this working for base level members as below:

However trying to save a comment the same way on the node level (e.g. Revenue Reserves above) doesn't save the comment when the Save Comments button at the top is pressed. If I input a comment on both the base and the node above, then when saving it only saves the comment against the base data. Are we missing something obvious in the set-up, whether specific to the query (included runtime properties below) or the document store/aggregation level or something else in general?

2. Back in BPC Classic using EPM instead of AfO you could pull comments through into cells using =EPMCommentFullContext(), whereas these comments seem to take the form of excel comments in that you need to hover over to read them. We saw this video that we're guessing uses an old technique of having a comment specific infoobject used as a key figure included in the aggregation level. We were wondering if there's any way using the document store option of pulling the comments into cells instead.

Thank you very much for any help, and let me know if I need to provide anything further.

Hi Dominic,

you may use information Vadim has shared in the above link to display the documents contained in the document store.

1 Maybe the documents on the node level exist but are not displayed. You can do a note search using component BW4-AE-CORE-DOC, e.g. notes 2941310, 2929978, 2905275 might be relevant.

2 The documents feature in 1 is displayed in Excel as 'Excel Comments' (now called 'Notes' in more recent Excel versions); there is no build-in function in Analysis Office to display the documents in Excel cells.

Regards,

Gregor
