The petty cash closing figure in the system (SAP) at the end of the business day of 30th May 2023 was Kshs.51,213.05
Checking on the system in the morning of 31st May 2023, I realized that the opening balance had shot to Kshs.299,063.05 from Kshs.51,213.05 (the closing figure for the previous day) reflecting a variance of Kshs.247,850.00 which is still hanging in the petty cash to date
Kindly note that when the closing and opening balance is run on the two dates i.e 30.05.2023-31.05.2023 then the opening balance equal to Kshs.51,213.05 which is the correct figure
