classic GL on S4HANA

Hello,

I am currently working for a customer who is considering migrating from the classic GL to the new GL (as a pre-project for S4HANA). They have a well functioning classic GL solution so far. As far as I could read in the SAP books and in webinars, the classic GL-solution on S4HANA is also possible and can be considered equivalent to NewGL. Are there any disadvantages to migrating to S4HANA with the classicGL-solution? Can the document split also be activated with classic GL?

It is difficult for me to advise the customer to implement the newGL, because the advantages are very manageable, but the effort is quite complex. I would rather go faster to S4.

What are the arguments against an account solution on S4HANA?
