Clarification on CPI Calculation and Capitalization Process in SAP using CJZ1 /CJZ2 & AUC Settlement

Hello SAP Experts,

I am seeking clarification on how Construction Period Interest (CPI) is calculated and handled in SAP S/4HANA using transaction code CJZ1 / CJZ2, particularly in relation to Assets Under Construction (AUC) and subsequent capitalization.

Here is what I understand so far:

  1. CJZ2 is used to calculate the CPI during the construction phase, which gets accumulated in the AUC.
  2. Once the construction is completed, the AUC is settled, and the interest accumulated during the construction period is transferred to the final asset.
  3. After settlement, the final asset is capitalized, and depreciation starts, considering both the original construction cost and the accumulated CPI.

Could someone please confirm if this is the correct process? Additionally, I would appreciate any details on:

  • The specific configuration or settings needed for CJZ2 to calculate CPI correctly.
  • How the interest is tracked and settled from AUC to the final asset.
  • Any special considerations to ensure the CPI is correctly included in the final asset value at the time of capitalization.

Thank you in advance for your insights and help!

Best regards,
Siddesh
