Changes needed for bank account number greater than 18 digits

Hi

We have some vendors that have bank account number longer than 18 characters. We cannot use Reference or Bank account holder fields to store additional number beyond 18 characters. Reason is these fields are already used.

I have referred existing SAP notes on this requirement.

1. Can I store delta characters in IBAN field ? Assuming I do not have operations in Europe or other countries where IBAN is applicable.

2. In our process, PAYEXT IDoc is triggered to send payment information to bank. Bank account number is present in segment E1IDB02 BB, field FIIKONTO. How can I store additional bank account info in IDOC ? Should I create new segment in IDOC or extend field length ? Please provide detailed steps.

3. What changes will be needed in PI , BCM module for this ?

4. Are there any other places in system where changes are needed.
