Can we build input enabled BEX query in BPC 11.1 standard

Hi Team,

We are on SAP BPC 11.1 standard over B4HANA 2.0. In the BPC web admin, we have created one planning model.

System creates an ADSO and a corresponding composite provider at the BW layer.

We are trying to create an input enabled query on top composite provider, but going by the BW standards, we should create an aggregation level on top of composite provider. A BEX query on top of aggregation level could become an input enabled query.

However, system is not allowing creation of aggregation level on top of composite provider. Should we infer that input enabled query cannot be created in BPC 11.1 standard system? Or is there any other way to create it?

Regards,

Priya

"Keep the report for the purpose of viewing the data as it was previously. And make an epm input schedule for the purpose of manually inputting the data."

This is the correct approach!

P.S. And I do not understand the benefits of BEX query report on the BPC standard model over standard EPM report! Looks overcomplicated.

P.S. If the customer has low experience in creating EPM reports then training is required.

Hi Vadim,

Thanks for the response. Even we were thinking strongly to take the 2nd option. Yes the existing design from previous implementation is complicated. I agree!

Sorry, but what is the idea behind creating input ready query for BPC standard model???

Hi Vadim,

This report already existed as part of previous BPC implementation.. now client has upgraded to 11.1 BPC standard. As part of further development, user wants to have input enabled form. So we were thinking on two lines:

  1. Enhance the report to an input enabled form using input enabled query. But that seems a bit difficult as we don't see possibility of Aggregation level created on top of Composite Provider.
  2. Keep the report for the purpose of viewing the data as it was previously. And make an epm input schedule for the purpose of manually inputting the data.

Kindly suggest.

Priya
