Can Digital Payment Add-On be disabled in S4?

Hi Experts,

We are preparing a demo scenario for credit card payments in SAP S4, however in SOM during creation of solution quotation using BP/contract account that has credit card details and credit card payment method for incoming payment an error is encountered "When payment method payment card is selected, enter card data".

When we view the BP in Manage Business Partner Master Data app in SOM, under Payment Cards the entry for payment card is existing there but the Card Number is missing. But in BP transaction code, the Card Number is displayed. Now if we edit the BP in the said app and save, error message "Delete Payment Card entries that do not have a card number." Then if we create a new card and register on the app, error "Cannot create card.SAP Digital Payments Add-On is not active.

Since we are just performing a demo and testing focusing on payment runs, we would not want to have further effort on this functionality (but it was interesting so we are planning to check it in the future). Is there a way to disable this Add-On? Or a method/alternative to show this without performing additional developments like setting the PSPs and connections for demo purpose.

You need to check whether the integration scenario Digital Payments for Contract Accounting and Convergent Invoicing has been activated in IMG. If it has you can deactivate it.

Hi Ciaran,

Thank you for your response on this. Yes, initially this add-on is not activated the exact error we are receiving: "Cannot create card, SAP Digital Payments Add-On is not active" when we are registering a payment card. So it seems it is being required when using credit card as payment method. We want to know if this validation can be deactivated just for demo purposes only.

The customizing to integrate with digital payment cards is in IMG path:

Integration with other SAP Components -> Integration with the SAP Digital Payments Add-on -> Activate SAP Digital Payments Add-on.

In case you want to integrate digital payment cards or understand the integration settings, you may also have a look at SOM integration guide available on BRIM portal. I am providing the guide link here as well. Chapter 10.1 and 11.7 have useful information on digital payments cards setting and integration with subscription items. Thanks.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for your response. In our case, we don't need this Add-On at the moment as this will require further configurations, new license and installations. We would like to check if there's a way to disable this validation temporarily? As the demo purpose is focusing only on payment run for credit cards.
