Hi SAP Experts,


Our Auditors are asking details of Details: General Ledger Account XXXX posting due to revenue recognition run process ...

when we execute revenue recognition run we get Postings tab with Accounts tab summary of each GL Account posting at summary level and details below in detail tab
Details: General Ledger Account XXXX

But this detail is not enough Auditors are asking all posting to P&L GL Account with details like .. who posted the time how many hours which hours posted as been contributed to revenue recognition run and which were delayed due posting block or any other reasons ..
any time booking cleared or expense cleared or any other direct posting ...

how does SAP works out this summary of GL Posting and which time line has been cleared in revenue recognition run and which were not ... could you please tell us details which can help identify such details ..

SAP has any report which has such details .. we tried revenue recognition run history but no luck ..

we need details of P&L GL Posting with full breakdown of how that cost was initially posted by whom etcs.

Dear Customer, 

In SAP Business ByDesign, the Revenue Recognition Run aggregates and posts revenue and cost recognition entries based on the underlying project time confirmations, expense postings, and other cost objects. The auditors' request goes deeper than the default level of detail provided in the Postings tab of the Revenue Recognition Run — they want traceability from the P&L postings back to the original source transactions (e.g., time recordings, expense reports), including user details, dates, hours, reasons for delay/block, etc.

To meet auditor requirements, you'll need to link several reports like (Project Cost and Revenue Details by Project Structure, Journal, Cost Centers - Line Items, G/L Accounts - Line Items...)

You can get the Revenue Recognition Run ID and date, open Journal report for that period and filter by the G/L Account in question, and For each line item, use Reference Document Type and Source Document ID to trace back to Time Recording Confirmation...

The SAP Business ByDesign does not offer a single standard report that provides:

  • Revenue recognition journal entry

  • Original time/expense document

  • User who posted

  • Delay/blocking reason

  • Posting date and clearing info

However, you can build a custom report using Data Sources. Use Business Analytics > Design Reports to combine these into a joined data source/report.
