Bulkloader files in error

Hi Experts,

We have files in the bulkloader with extension err.gz. The ctl file information: Class: java.util.zip.ZipException invalid stored block lengths. There is no information in application help for this specific extension and we cannot open the file to check the BIT information in if it was loaded in CI.

How can we open the err.gz files? Also do we have further information on this extension?

Thanks

Steve

Hello Steve,

it means that the file cannot be read by a SAP CC instance. One reason could be that it was no properly closed most probably due to a unexpected stop of one instance.

Check the Rater instance log files (and trace files) and the BulkLoader instance log files in order to see if an event occurs at the file creation or at the file closing .

Thanks Eric,

Yes there was an outage that lasted several hours, but the system is now up. Is it still possible to open those files to validate in CI and reprocess if BITs are missing?

Thanks,

Steve

If this file is in error (with the extension err.gzip) and if the CTL file contains the highlighted error, you cannot recover this file.

Thanks Eric,

So in this case, is it correct to assume that the files were still processed? As the BITs seem to be aligned. But we need to make sure transactions were correctly transferred to CI.

Thanks,

Steve

Use the Cockpit and the "Analyze item file" app to monitor the BIT loading.

This app will help you to validate that all your created items have been loaded.
