Build version of knowledge base

Dear community,

does variant configurator and pricing support integration of build version of knowledge base from S4 hana? In a 2020 pdf documentation I've found that sap cpq see 'build version' of knowledge base are seen as 'minor changes' and does not support them. Do you know if something has changed since then?

We randomly encounter problems with build version configuration on sap cpq.

Hi Davide,

If the SDI is setup properly, the new build of a KB version (not a new KB runtime version, but a new Build of the existing version) is supposed to be replicated to VCP(CPS) in almost real time.

But the KB replication between CPQ and VCP happens daily by default unless the admin triggers a manual replication by KB ID in the CPQ backend. lukapilipovic, does CPQ supports the "new build" of an existing KB version(not new rumtime KB version)?

After the KB replication between CPQ and VCP is done, the user can executes the "Reconfigure" action for existing quotes to upgrade the (A)VC product items to the latest versions but only in Quote 2.0. According to another customer's ticket "378862/2023", using "Reconfigure" to upgrade quote items of (A)VC products is not applicable in Quote 1.0.

The issue/clarification need is: if an open quote exists with certain versin of a kb, let's say version 3 and then on s4 hana backend a new build (or version) is created, how can we update kb information on the open quote? Should standard action 'reconfigure' be used?

dmonta sorry for a bit late reply. Correct, reconfigure will take correct product version based on effective date on quote (in Quote 2.0)

Hi Davide,

Cpq will definitely "see" new build version and create new product version. If there is specific issue you are running into please create support ticket so we can address it.
