BPC optimized for S4HANA Finance 1511

Hi

Can someone tell if it is possible to create what-if analysis, planning on 5 year periods, rolling forecasts with BPC optimized for S4HANA Finance (IBPf) pre delivered planning scenarios( & templates).

I have noticed some planning scenarios such as Sales planning, Cash forecasting etc are predelivered so is it possible to create these or any other planning scenarios in BPC optimized for S4HANA Finance 1511?

Hi Jack,

This is a very generic question, so the generic answer is - yes, it's possible. Question is how much customization will you need to achieve your particular goal.

Unlike in Standard, in IBPf you can run some what-if analysis and then "undo" all of it. Is that your "what-if analysis" or something else?

Categories are not limited to 1 year, hence rolling forecast is possible as well.

Can you please elaborate on customisation please ? Are you referring  Abap coding ?

I know this question is generic. I am trying explore the standard functionality in BPC optimized for S4HANA finance order to estimate customisation need to achieve our scope.

We want to implement 5 years rolling forecasting with Driver based planning for Sales, Cash,Opex, Capex, P&L and BS planning scenarios. We also have some non financial planning elements as well.

I know these requirements can be achieved in BPC 10 or Standard environments with Dimension modelling and scrips logic's and Abap if need customisation.

I have noticed BPC optimised for S4HANA finance comes with per delivered templates for one period and an year for some scenarios such as Cost center planning, Profit centre planning etc  . So I want to know how customisation would needed to implement rolling forecast and also create new planning models like sales or cashflow because these are not delivered.

Hi Jack,

I wasn't referring specifically to ABAP; I was referring to Query, Filters, Variables, Planning Functions, etc.

For example, delivered Workbook shows 12 periods - Jan - Dec. You have to change it to show 12 months from any given month.

Another example, delivered functions are mostly copy, clear and distribution. You'll have to create additional functions for driver based planning.
