BPC Embedded – Work Status

Hi Experts,

We are currently working on BPC 10.1, BW 7.4, AO 2.4 Landscape. We have a requirement to configure ‘Work Status’ and BPF Flows, so that the users can plan in the AO workbook and subsequently set work status and initiate the BPF flow. The planning report has a hierarchy on ‘Entity’ on which they can plan respectively.

I referred the HTG “Integration of Work Status with Activities of the Business Process Flow in BPC” using only an External Dimension for Entity as Owner dimension as well as with Performer / Reviewer as attributes, and BAdI implementation of ‘BADI_RSBPCB_SETUSER’. I am getting the Workflow Status now. My questions are as below.

• 1.We have a slightly complex hierarchy for ‘Entity’ like every genuine business hierarchy with several text nodes, hierarchy levels and respective leaf nodes. I could see that the Work states were only available for leaf nodes and not the text nodes (a parent node). Technically I could relate this, but the users would like to have Work states for Parent nodes as well which makes business sense. Now I am willing to ask if this is feasible and if yes then how? Am I missing anything? If no, then any workaround?
• 2.We have implemented Work Status Owner by using ‘Define by Customer Implementation’. So, is there a way to debug this BAdi Implementation through AO or any other way? I am Abap proficient, but I am unable to do so. I am curious to see and confirm as well that everything is done accurately in the backend.
