BPC Distribution Function

Dear Gurus,

I am getting the below message while trying to setup distribution from BPC 10.1 EPM Version 10.0 SP 28 Patch 3 .NET 4.5. I am not sure, where to enter the email address information to get it sent. Your suggestions would be highly appreciated.

When you press distribute you have to provide sender e-mail address here:

"For each variable dimension, enter:

• the email address of the user, when using a Local, SAP BusinessObjets Enterprise or SAP BW (INA Provider) connection.
• the user name or the email address of the user when using a Planning and Consolidation connection."

P.S. Sender e-mail is entered when you start distribution...

Just curious to know, If on the regular workstation, the computer computer may have to be on at the time the task runs!!

Yes, it has to be on with the user logged on! Please read the note I mentioned once again!!!

You can use a dedicated PC with EPM installed and connect to this PC using RDP from your normal PC.

Hi Vadim,

Yes, distributing without schedule is working. I just tried with installing the excel/EPM Addin in the server, scheduled the task and it worked, I received the email. The only difference is I have logged in as an admin instead of myself.

It has to work from your workstation with the user having admin rights.

Instead of e-mail distribution try to run scheduled folder distribution. Is it working?

Not sure that your SMTP is configured correctly (25 is not SSL port). Authentication - Anonymous with user/password???

Are you able to distribute by email immediately (without schedule)?

In template instead of user put email address

Hi Vadim,

I got the admin rights and tried again, now it says the task is completed, but I am still not receiving the email.

Now please, see the steps followed:

clicked on distribution

next screen appears, click next

next screen appears, select workbook, Destination - switch to offline mode and send by email.

Entered sender information,

select template

Summary screen appears : I have noticed that it does not update the receiver information, still show the receiver as myself, however when I try to send manually it is showing the correct information. Not sure where I am going wrong, any suggestions!!!

Sorry, but have you configured smtp server in user options? Have you tested it?

Please check other requirements!

User has to be administrator on the PC

Windows user name and password correct

user has to be logged on the PC during schedule

I was following the instructions from the document attached in the Note "Dcom for Task Scheduler". I can certainly look for updating my version to EPM SP32, will keep you posted. Thanks you for the assistance.

You have to install EPM SP32P01 or later...

You have to upgrade to the latest EPM SP and computer has to be running with logged correct user.

Please read SAP notes about windows task scheduler and EPM.

Hi Vadim,

I was trying to schedule the distribution, however it tries to send the report to a different user other than the user id I have added under the dimension member selection area under distribution template. Just wondering if there is a different place to set the email id of the intended user for the scheduled distribution list, any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
