BPC consultant - Role expectation

Hi all,

I have a few questions regarding the roles of a BPC consultant.

1. What is the expectation out of a BPC functional consultant? What areas/topics should a functional consultant be able to handle?

2. What is the expectation out of a BPC technical consultant? What areas/topics should a technical consultant be able to handle?

3. As a BPC techno-functional consultant, what is expected on the BI side?

4. As a BPC techno-functional consultant, what is expected on the FI/CO side?

5. Is the consultant expected to know ABAP and be able to write BADIs?

I understand that having in-depth understanding of BW and FI and being able to write BADIs is always a good-to-have, but for now I am trying to understand the basic expectations out of a BPC consultant.

Hi,

1. build excel report, expert on using excel formulas, as EPM functions is similar to excel functions.

2. load data from BW to BPC, must have BW knowledge, ABAP skills will help alot.

3. you need to know your way around in BW, know process chains, all the technical terms.

4. FI/CO knowledge will be a big plus, but for a junior BPC consultant you will be told what to do most of the time.

5. only if you want to be a technical BPC consultant, then ABAP is a must.

Hi RajKumar,

I added some more thing about BPC Functional consultant role and expectation.A BPC functional consultant is expected to generate knowledge about the current business process,design current business flows,study current business process and it's complication,all this forms are help full the part of the "AS-IS" Sometimes BPC functional consultants are also expected to prepare test scripts for testing the configured scenario and last thing also expectation from BPC functional consultants to prepare End-user manual and user training is also expected from us.

As a techno functional consultant in BPC means you need to very good understanding in logic script and data loading process both BW and BPC.
