Hi All,
As we are in the process of installing BPC7.0 NW version for our client Can anyone please let us know which one of the following would be a viable option:
1. Install BPC NW as an add on on existing BI server or
2. Install BPC in a separate server.
What are the factors that need to be considered befor proposing the BPC architecture.
Can u also please let us know the pros and cons of each alternatives.
Your suggestions would be highly appreciated.
For the sake of better integration and also to optimise TCO, I would suggest one single instance of BW and BPC.

Hi,
One thing to keep in mind is that EHP1 is a prerequisite for installing BPC, but EHP1 is incompatible with the FIN-BASIS addon. Because of this, you can't install EHP1 on a system where you have SEM-BPS or SEM-BCS installed, so you cannot install BPC for Netweaver on such a system.
Other than that, it's mostly an infrastructure management issue, and a question of how aggressive you are comfortable being with support packs and enhancement packs on your primary BI system.

Hi,
Think I already answered similar one before. But in general both versions (standalone BPC or BPC on existing BW project system) works for BPC and it depends on customer, how he wants to maintain his TCO.
For easy installation, maintenance, no dependencies issues, short testing cycle its good to have a standalone BPC.
For BPC on existing NW system, after NW EHP1 installation (which is a BPC prerequisite) need to plan a test cycle for the BW projects before installing BPC. Need to have a good project and maintenance plan in combination with BW project, need to allocate resources accordingly etc...

Hi Harikishan,
Your question seems to be not clear.
let me give outline details.
1. Install EHP1 on existing BI server ( Install new BI 7.0 system if not already exists)
2. Install BPC Plug-in for BI system
3. Install BPC 7.0 NW version on windows machine and install client on client machines.
Simple thing is, you can follow installation guide for this all.
thanks
