Dear experts
I'm implementing an embedded consolidation model on BPC 11.0 running on BW4/HANA SP05. But I'm not able to convert assets and liabilities at closing rate. According to note 2424631, YTD conversion has been lost. Only periodic conversion seems to be available on this version of BPC.
Data is stored periodic, in comparison to the classic consolidation. However, the currency conversion on BPC 10.1 Embedded was converting each month separately, but also applying an extra adjustment on the working month to meet the YTD vision. For example.

This behaviour has been lost. Now, only periodic conversion seems to be available with BPC 11.0.

This does not meet any consolidation criteria. Assets and liabilities should not be converted at a periodic exchange rate. Note 2424631 seems to be very clear about the need to re-convert each previous month, but I'm sure I'm missing something, because this implies losing the consolidated picture of every past month.
What options do I have? Do I need to update every month the rates of all previous months and re-run consolidation for all previous months? If so, to not lose the consolidated picture of every past month, should I manage versions with Category dimension? This would need a specific category for every month (actual_jan, actual_feb, actual march...) and would complicate the reporting and the user understanding.
Anyone has faced the problem with a better approach?
Thank you in advance
Sergio

I would read the note as saying that there is a new option / parameter available that, if activated, changes the conversion behaviour. But if this new option / parameter is not activated, the system behaves as before.
Activating option CT_NEWCAL removes this limits. To activate the new logic you have toUse SPRO transaction for classic model and add the parameter CT_NEWCAL ( value X to activate) at environment leveluse SE38 and program RSBPC0_PARAM_MAINTAIN_COM to add the CT_NEWCAL parameter for an environment on embedded version. You must be a registered user to add a comment.
