BPC 10.1 Embedded - Read-Only Key Figures based on Version property

Hi All, There is requirement for flexible forecasting, for example: This year, the user is planning forecasting with 4 (copy from 4 months actual) + 8 (forecast). It could be different for next year, let says, 5 (actual) + 7 (forecast). The first 4 or 5 key figures  will be locked (read-only) since those are actual data reference and the others 8 or 7 key figures are open for input. The user needs to maintain how many forecast periods for planning in Version dimension property. The question, How to make the key figures flexible for input/read only based on version property by using BPC 10.1 Embedded ? Thanks

In Embedded model we don't put Actuals and Plan data into same cube. We use MultiProvider of 2 cubes instead. Only data from Plan cube can be changed. Since Actual data will come from basic cube users won't be able to change it.

Si, there is no need to make it read-only.

Assume, I made 2 cubes for Actual and Plan. In the EPM Add-In, we have 12 months key figures for period 01 - 12. However, since the requirement of how many months actual or plan is dynamic. How to trick it in EPM Add-In ?

First of all, AO is recommended front-end for Embedded model; EPM Add-in is for Standard.

You can create a Custom exit variable that will read what is the last period of Actuals and retrieve data from the corresponding cube.
