Dear Experts,
we enter data for the companies in BPC 10.0 Consolidation Model.
I would like to close the period for data entry for future periods.
For Example, I send actual data for period 12.2015. The user can set work status for this period after enter data. But if they go to EPM and change the period to 12.2016 they could saved data also for this period. Is in BPC the possibility to close all periods for data entry by default and and just open the actual period like in BCS?
I would like to clos periods (12.2016, 12.2017, ...)
I want to make sure not to get data in wrong period.
Do someone has a solution for it or can I do it with default script logic?
Thanks
Daniel

Ok, will set the status for all periods in EPM and change it for all Periods which should locked and leave the one periode open. Will see if its worked. Hope it works this way.

"Is in BPC the possibility to close all periods for data entry by default and and just open the actual period like in BCS?" - you can lock all time periods manually also!

You can also use custom logic badi in DM package to change work status: https://blogs.sap.com/2013/10/28/how-to-change-work-status-from-script-logic-using-badi/

Hi Daniel,
Maybe you can continue to use the Workstatus functionality for the same purpose....like Keep your intial Workstate as "Locked" where everything is Locked and no manual input allowed...then before starting the planning the user will only open the period for which planning needs to be done i.e "Unlocked" others would be locked! User can enter data into that period and then again freeze it up by changing the workstate to "Submitted".So the workstates would be like
1.) Locked
2.) Unlocked/Start PLanning
3.) Submitted
4.) Approved
I always use this....Hope this helps your case.....

JP

Here are some guides....

P.S We never make changes to the "Actual" category or version! We copy the data from Actual to Plan category and then make changes.
Hope this helps....Please upvote if helpfull..
