book publication - epmretrievedata function

Hi,

I have a number of reports that I have added to a book publication template. A few of these include local members that use the EPMRetrieveData function. They all work fine when I open them directly from the Excel interface or via a BPC activity.

However, in the published book the EPMRetrieveData functions are not executed and instead displayed as #RFR even though all the reports have the option set to refresh data in the whole file when opening. I can refresh the published book and thereby get the correct data. However I would expect the data to be displayed correctly without a refresh.

I get the same behaviour with the EPM Add-in (.Net 4) SP33 and also the very latest SP34.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour before and found a solution?

Thanks,

Arnold

P.S. In general, it's always possible to replace standard BPC book publication with VBA code that will do whatever you want 🙂

Hi Arnold,

To my mind, it's a bad practice to use EPMRetrieveData at all 🙂 I was always able to use normal reports without EPMRetrieveData
