Bonded Warehouse process in UK after Brexit

Hi GTS Guru,

Greetings!!!

I need your Input on below 2 points-

1. I worked on the Bonded Warehouse Process for EU region. My question is, If tomorrow any company in UK is planning to Implement BWH, what will be the Process after UK Brexit? will it be still same like EU process?

2. SAD form (Which is also known as Form C88 ; Message ID P0080) is used for exportation and importation of goods in EU/UK. Which form or Message type will be used for Fallback procedure in UK as i did not find any standard Message ID for UK.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards,

Vindhyachal

Hi Vindhyachal,

The CWH processes in the UK are not changing due to Brexit. The EU "Union Customs Code" is being adopted completely as the new UK Customs Code - firstly because UK Customs (HMRC) had a big input into the UCC design, and secondly because they currently don't have time right now to write a new Customs Code!

Since the "SAD Harmonisation" project in 2007, the UK does not generally use paper declarations, and has no formal "Fallback" process. The SAD form is occasionally requested by traders and agents, but (except for "merchandise in baggage" or similar small manual declarations) has no legal standing.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks a lot for clarifying my doubt on BWH.

Regarding SAD & Fallback, if i understood correctly then you mean to say that UK CHIEF is not supporting Fallback process formally and SAD is also not so required document to move the shipment. In case, if SAD is not required then which form is used to move the Shipment.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Vindhyachal
