Blocking a delivery in ECC from GTS

Hi Experts! We would like to display a warning message while opening a delivery in ECC, as corresponding delivery in GTS contains a specific product,

e.g.

1- Delivery #100 is created in SAP feeder system (replicated delivery in GTS: #gts_100) with material number M1234 (replicated product created in GTS:

#gts_M1234)

2- If product #gts_M1234 is "tagged" in GTS, is it possible to send a warning message as user wants to open delivery #100 in ERP feeder?

Jon, there is no standard feature for that.

Can you please elaborate, what you mean by product is "tagged". Is it some kind of classification?

i have a similar requirement as my client has dual use Products, where client asking us to setup warning message for those Materials. Request you to let me know how we can achieve this.

Yes by "tagged", I mean some specific kind of material (for instance, all material starting by M* in MARA table, or whatever).

Business team has given a list of material that are currently ITAR relevant : the warning message has to be set for these very materials.

I have been told about a "warning mode" available in standard from GTS towards ERP: does it really exist? If NO, how performing this in specific development?

Jon, SAP GTS doesn't have any feature of "tagging", based on filters as you suggest (material codes starting with M*). However, the materials which are ITAR relevant can be classified in GTS under ITAR (USML) numbering scheme.

The "warning mode" which you have heard, is may be the pop-up shown on save of order / delivery documents if it is blocked in GTS due to compliance reasons (SPL Screening, Embargo and License checks).

What is to be done in ERP? What is to be done in GTS?

Jon, that will be a long topic to cover here. Few thoughts:

• Why do you need to get that pop-up.
• Is SAP GTS already there in your landscape. If yes, what is it doing already.
• ITAR is specific to US only, but would there be any need for other countries
• Are there handful of codes or you need to buy the military lists from some data provider
• ...

Hi Nishant, I need to get that pop-up in order to tell to user in ERP that the delivery he is about to modify (VL02n) is ITAR relevant, and that he (or she) has to check with Export Control Officer before going further.

Business team want that this pop-up comes from GTS - not directly implemented within a user-exit in ERP, although it appears as the most logical way to do.

SAP GTS is already there in our landscape and so far, no warning or document blocking has been implemented.

Only ITAR relevant materials are in our scope.

Jon, you can connect to me on LinkedIn, we can talk more about your specific requirement. Few points to consider:

• In standard implementation, the message from GTS is shown only after saving a non-compliant document
• Users would need to mark in GTS which products are ITAR relevant and which are not
• The documents will continue to be blocked in GTS as I understand, releasing them is not your expectation
