Best upgrade strategy & steps for BPC 7.5 to BPC 10.0 upgrade

Hi All,

We are planing for upgrading our current BPC Servers from version 7.5 to 10.0

Our current BPC & BW landscape is

we have BW servers on a different server which is having CPMBPC 754 and the BPC server on a different server.

I heard that from BPC 10.0 the server components are included in the ABAP Add-on. Is that true ? If it is then how can i merge both the servers into one server ?

Could you please let me know what is the best way to upgrade the BPC server in our current situation.

Also please provide if there is any detailed document out listing the prerequisites & post steps for this upgrade.

Hi Pandeswara,

Follow the installation guide for BPC 10.

after installation run program UJT_MIGRATE_75_TO_10

in 7.5 there is a web server on a separate server, in BPC 10 SAP will take care of that function.

all you need to do if upgrade the BW server where BPC sits, activate BPC 10 environment shell, then run the program.

Thank you very much for your inputs on this,

Could you please let me know if there are any standard prerequisite steps & post activities that we need to perform in the SAP BW server before & after the upgrade. I do have a list of steps from basis point of view. If you could help me with BW\BPC side it would be really helpful.

Pre-Steps:

1. Full DB backup.

2. Stop the SAP Background jobs

3. Backup BPC Appset from T-code UJBR

Post steps:

1. Start the SAP Background jobs.

2. Run UJT_MIGRATE_75_TO_10 report

Hi Shrikant,

Thanks for the upgrade guide, I have gone through the upgrade guide & as well as the installation guide.

Hopefully will start the upgrade soon, Will check & update if we encounter with any of the issues or if need any further information on this upgrade.
