Balance Carry Forward from Previous Month

Hi,

For performing legal consolidation, our requirement is to do a balance carry forward from previous month. The standard carry forward rule brings closing balances from the last period of the previous year to current period as opening balances. I referred this thread (suggesting to set property values OPENING_YEAR to be +0 and OPENING_PERIOD to be -1 in Category dimension).

The suggested approach works well for periods 2 to 12. But for period 1 it does not bring forward anything from period 12. I would prefer using the standard Carry Forward rule and not a custom account transformation rule to accomplish this.

Please suggest an approach to bring closing balances from previous month using standard Carry Forward rule, no matter which period I run the BCF for.

We are on BPC 10.1 NW - Standard/Classic.

I am aware of this and hence thought of asking the experts if someone knows of a way to make it work for all 12 months!

For the first month you have to use different script.
