Dear All,
I need to perform backup/restore of an ENV using UJBR. Client is not allowing me to execute UJBR. They are asking me to resort to other methods in this process.
Is there any other way I can perform backup/restore of an ENV/DIMs/Cubes? Export and Import kind of stuff? It is more of dealing with DIMs and Cubes' data. And, the landscape is BPC 10.0 NW on Oracle.
Thanks,
Peri

Hi Peri,
To copy environment from PROD to DEV you have to use UJBR.
You need to ask client's BASIS guy to run the UJBR for you if they don't want to give you access.
Maybe clients restrict UJBR in PROD, you just have to ask the right person to run it for you.

Hi Peri
Try to talk to client and understand their concern regarding usage of UJBR. It might be possible that they had some issue in the past or the T-code might be blocked on a blanket basis based on some security policy. Or they might need to be explained about it in detail.
Not sure if you are allowed SE38 or SA38 access. If you do, run the program UJT_BACKUP_RESTORE_UI
Another option would be to create a custom program to allow for backup only, assign a T-code and transport it. I am assuming here that your client might have more concern with Restore than Backup.

HI Peri,
You can use UJFS T code to take backup of all files. (File server)

Hello,
There is no other reliable way to backup and restore BPC meta-frame, master and transaction data without UJBR. You can use transport but transport will not copy transaction data. The only other way I have seen used is a complete system copy.
It is very strange that the customer does not want to use a tool specifically provided for this purpose. What is their reason?

Leila
Hi Peri,
For sure you can backup/restore the whole Oracle server... But what do you want to achieve? Strange requirements...

Hi Peri,
Try using "Copy" environment from front end (admin).
