Backup and Restore failing

Hi Gurus,

We are seeing this error when we are trying to take the backup file from production and populate it in the test environment so that both production and test environment are in sync.  It says Webfolder-Fail. What can be done to resolve this issue? Can't find much documentation for this.

Regards,

David

Hi guys,

After going through the system, we realized that the test environment did not have enough disk space to put the webfolder files in PC_MS. We addressed the disk space issue and the recovery process was successful.

Hi David,

maybe the environment you try to restore in test is in error. Try first doing a modify model/application with application process checked and see if it works fine.

Also redo the backup and after the restore.

is the web folder in the same location as the source system?  Also did you make sure all dimensions have been processed and all models optimized beforehand?

No, they are not in the same server. We maintain separate servers for test and dev.

We optimized it before backup but did not process the dimensions. Would it make a difference if we process the dimensions separately?

it shouldnt matter if you process them all together or if you do one at a time.

I know they are on 2 separate servers, but I was wondering if the webfolder directory is located in a similar directory structure as the source system

Hi DiAn,

Thanks for your reply. How can we check the webfolder directory structure?

Somewhere like this on each of the servers...

Yeah, both the directory structures are similar and the webfolder is in PC_MS.
