Automatically putting documents in Fallback procedure

Hello GTS Gurus,

We have a requirement to aggregate Value of Goods in each of the customs declaration based on Commodity code. If the value is less than $2500, it should automatically put the document in fallback procedure for manual filing.

Approach: We wanted to achieve this through license by creating license type with low value check and option 'Aggregating based on ECCN number'. We would then assign this license type in fallback procedure Activity to automatically put documents in Fallback procedure.

While I activate Fallback Procedure, I am getting following incompleteness message for all documents for which fallback procedure is active:

'Fallback procedure is active; execution of message not allowed'

Please help and share how exactly this functionality works. My requirement is that 'Documents should be processed via electronic communication unless we Add them to fallback procedure activity.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Teena,

Well, Fallback means (in GTS, anyway) that declarations have to be processed / submitted manually because the electronic system is not in use. So of course it's not useful or meaningful to submit them electronically during the fallback period.

For what you want, I don't think Fallback is the right answer. Instead, if I read you correctly, I think you want the electronic output messages to be processed immediately for some declarations, and manually for others. - am I right?

For that, perhaps you could use the Output Monitor (Transaction Code /SAPSLL/PRN_MONITOR) to run the low-value messages periodically, leaving the high-value ones to be submitted manually. Looking at the selection screen there, maybe the easiest way would be to propose the "Person Responsible" according to the total value somehow. Could that work?

Hi Dave,

Requirement:

Case A: Customs declarations in which Value of Goods for a commodity code is less than $2500 are filed manually i.e. prints are taken from GTS system and filing is done manually. No filing through EDI.

Case B: When Value of Goods in customs declaration for a commodity code is more than $2500 filing is done through EDI using AES.

Thanks & Regards,
