Hi All,
Currently, we have a user defined Data Source Dimension or Audit Trail Dimension assigned to the Data Model. As far as I know, this user defined dimension will not help in the Business Rules for Balance Carry Forward and Currency Translation as well since it is User defined Dimension.
This was done when the system was implemented long before but since I joined the project recently, I would like to streamline the process like to use the standard business rules which would improve the performance of the system.
Therefore, I would like to know if there is a possibility to assign the Standard Audit Trail Dimension to the existing model. We currently have around 4 years of data. Also, please let me know what would be the Impact by doing so.
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
Venkat

Hi Venkata,
For sure you can add standard Audittrail dimension. All data will be linked to the single base member... Then you can transform it somehow. Just test yourself on the environment copy...
Vadim
P.S. Another option is to create a new model replacing user defined dimension with a standard one. Then move data (different ways).

Ok Great, thanks a lot Vadim. Looks feasible. Was planning to do the same like to create a backup cube and then send the data to the backup cube and change the existing data model with the standard dimension and then send back the data from Backup cube to the Original cube.
For sure, let me try your options in Dev environment and test the results.
Thanks again.

Additional update please. As of now, the Currency Translation is performed using Script logic.
