In the "Financial Statement Version" of the "Manage Global Hierarchies" app, the G/L account set in the hierarchy is displayed as "00NOTASSGND" in the "Journal Entry Analyzer" app. I don't know the cause. I'd like to know how to solve it.

Hello dear user,

And thank you for asking your question in the SAP Community blog.

When you see "00NOTASSGND" in the Journal Entry Analyzer app, it usually means that a G/L account used in a journal entry hasn’t been assigned to any group in your Financial Statement Version.

In other words, the system doesn’t know where to place it in the financial hierarchy, so it throws it into a default "not assigned" bucket.

In the Manage Global Hierarchies app (where you maintain the FSV), every G/L account should be linked to a specific node like "Assets", "Expenses", etc.

If a G/L account is missing from that structure, the system can’t categorize it properly and labels it as 00NOTASSGND.

How to fix it:

1. Open the “Manage Global Hierarchies” app
Find your Financial Statement Version (like YCOA or your custom one) and open it for editing.

2. Look for unassigned accounts
Scroll through the hierarchy and check if the G/L account that’s showing as “00NOTASSGND” is included anywhere. If not, that’s the problem.

3. Add the missing G/L account
Choose the appropriate section of the hierarchy (e.g., under "Expenses" or "Revenues") and add the missing G/L account or range of accounts.

4. Save and activate the updated hierarchy.

5. Go back to the Journal Entry Analyzer and check again—your G/L account should now show up in the right place.

Here's a quick tip:

If you’re not sure which accounts are unassigned, check what’s appearing under “00NOTASSGND” in the Journal Entry Analyzer and note down those G/L numbers. Then you can go back and assign them in the hierarchy.

I hope this will help.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Hi,

In SAP Financial Statement Versions, "00NOTASSGND" (Not Assigned") means that GL account is not assigned to any specific node or item within the financial statement hierarchy.  When a G/L account is not assigned to a particular item within the Financial Statement Version, it's automatically displayed under this "Not Assigned" node. Make sure its assigned.
