Dear Community,
I would like to post an asset acquisition in period 13 in 2024.
I have created a new asset in the app “Manage Fixed Assets”, but I cannot post an acquisition to 31.12.2024.
I always get the following error message:
Unfortunately, I cannot select or enter a period in the asset posting.
The posting periods are open for the correction 2024 period 013 - 016 and from the normal periods of 2025 001 - 002.
Maybe you have an idea how to solve this. Or maybe it is not even possible to book asset accesses in the special periods in the public cloud?
Kind regards,
Vanessa

Hello @VanessaBrixle
Thank you for sharing the screenshot!
Here’s a summary of the situation:
You are attempting to post an asset acquisition in period 13 of 2024 using the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud app “Manage Fixed Assets” (F0773), but you are encountering the error "Period 13 is not allowed."
You also noted that you cannot manually select or change the period in the app.
To clarify:
In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the "Manage Fixed Assets" app only permits postings to normal periods, not to special periods (13–16).
Special periods are reserved strictly for year-end adjustments and can only be utilised via specific apps such as:
Asset transactions (such as acquisitions, retirements, or transfers) cannot be posted directly to special periods through asset management apps.
This is a known system limitation.
Summary:
➔ It is impossible to post asset acquisitions to special periods (13–16) using the “Manage Fixed Assets” app.
Below are the options!
