We need to send the approval notification to a team lead. The team lead will login to CPQ and assign a approver from his team. i am checking CPQ APIs and couldn't find any API that can assign a approver to the quote.
APIs shouldn't be needed to achieve this functionality as there is a standard method to do this.
When creating your approval rule, you can utilize the "Custom Approver Selection Logic" as the approver. For example, the formula for this selection logic could refer to the the name of the team lead by default and then the value of a custom field the team lead will fill out to designate the approver if it's populated.
Note: The expected value of the formula calculation can be the approvers email, username, or full name depending on your desired input (see screenshot).
