Addition of dims to exising model created new backend cube

Hi Friends,

I have added 11 new dims to existing model  X, which already consists of 9 dimensions. 

Before addition of new dims, model  had two back end cubes X  and X_B.

After addition of dims, today new cube with 20 dims created. Old cube still exists I mean system not deleted. UJA_APPL points to new cube.

Short dump says program struck at

Call program........."SAPLUJN_API_BI_IOBJ"

  Function module "UJN_API_DELETE_CUBE"

  Call destination.. "BPCRFC"

Data loading and report retrieval is happening via new cube.   

How to handle old cube ? I mean can we ignore that or need to apply any note or SP.

Ours is BPC 10 NW.

Hi,

I agree with others that you need to upgrade your system. However, I am also confused by the problem description.  If you are adding new dimension to an existing model then why should you expect to see a new model?  Could you please explain the exact process?  Did you add the dimensions in your DEV system and then transported to other systems and after the transport you noted that you have two cubes?

Do you have the application parameter set as below -

SPRO settings-->SAP Refrence IMG-->Planning and Consolidation-->Application parameters

"ENABLE_FIXED_CUBENAME"

if not can you please try setting it up and then  change your model structure( add or remove dimension). Hopefully it will not change the model technical name.

Just I added new dims to existing model in dev system, but in backend one new cube created. We are talking about old cube. Why system created new cube instead of modifying exising cube.

you are correct. I maintained SPRO parameter and added one new dim to existing model. It updated existing cube.

Do you have any idea about how can we delete old cube as old cube existing in quality and prod systems?  thanks..
