Hi People,
Hope you are well.
I have planning to move accounts from one child hierarchy to another child hierarchy.
Assume,I have one parent hierarchy and have two child hierarchies under it namely Out source and Marketing, then now planning move few accounts from Out source to Marketing and vice versa as per financial team needed.
So if i move accounts then my historical data/amount get change for Out source and marketing for sure. How can i work around this scenario without effecting historical data and this account reclassification activity has to do every end of the financial year.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Vishu

Ups, I am not sure that TDH is the right solution for this case...
"reclassification activity has to do every end of the financial year"
Just create new accounts under required parent and perform reclassification using journal.

Please explain what do you mean by: "reclassification activity has to do every end of the financial year"
In general you can't simply move accounts from one parent to another from the financial point of view. It has to be a transaction confirmed with some document. It can be done in ERP or in BPC.
Please talk with finance people!
Please explain what do you mean by: "reclassification activity has to do every end of the financial year"
- Clients wants to move accounts from one child hierarchy to another child hierarchy as per their financial point of view right after their financial year completed.
Assume Under PARENTH1 hierachy, Outsource and marketing are child nodes.
In finance you don't move accounts, you move money
You need to have 2 sets of accounts under 2 parents and you move money between the mentioned accounts.
During the year target accounts will be empty and after year close the target accounts will receive some values and the source accounts will be zeroed.
Hi Vishu....
It is supported from SP09 onwards.....and yours is SP08. Please upgrade if you want to use TDH...
Since BPC NW version 10 SP09, BPC officially supports the time dependent hierarchy for dimensions which allows business users to see data reflected differently based on changes to master data hierarchy by time.
Given in the link provided by me.....first link!

Vishu....Yes it would be possible to change....But then as you stated earlier it might not show you the historical data under the old node. And the user would like to see the historical data!
Craeting new accounts for the other node would not be a good solution as there might be often changes in the hierarchy shifting!
Currently to my mind I can think of creating a new model with time dependent hierarchy for accounts and put the current data in that and you can refer to the historical data from old model as is it with the old hierarchical structure.
Hope this helps....

JP
