Access Control BRM (Role Mass Maintenance) Role Import not importing any roles

Hey hi guys,

I am having a situation with role importation from the backend system - roles I need to import into GRC Access Control for assignment are not coming through, even though the template (shell) roles are visible when I search for them under ARA and Role Management.

No error message is stated any where in the background job logs; see screen shot attached.role-failed-importation.jpg

any idea from you guys as to what could the issue and the solution. Mind you the function has been working successfully prior.

Hi Katuta

when you did the role import wizard did you attempt to preview all roles prior to submitted the job. I have found when I get nothing in the job results (like you did) that I had an issue with the initial selection in the BRM wizard

If you get no results then it's the initial selection of data

1. Check connector works (e.g. obj repository sync)

2. Recheck your selection of roles - try one role only as manual import and go as far as checking the role is selected then return to the screen

3. Check if you are excluding roles already in repository (I think selection screen has that as an option).

when you say template roles, do you mean imparting technical roles (role type is SIN) or template role type? What roles are you trying to import? If composite, have you checked all singles/derived imported first?

As a note, I had issues with composite backend import from backend system. In the end I manually extracted that from the plug-in directly and used XLS file import for the backend authorisation data to get through that step. I think I received an error message that the import failed.

Hi, check your import job, might be not running correctly (tcode SM37 or SLG1).

Secondly, check the authorizations of the ID that's running the job (tcode SU53).

Maybe also check the RFC connection (both connection and authorization test).
