Dear SAP Gurus,
Business want to go for 2 years historical data with Quarter periods data Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 each year and business wants to run carry forward opening balances required for cashflow reporting.
Business had YTD data for all the periods of past two years. When I try to upload Q1 2023 data it's giving the right result on the financials as they can see on the ISAS reporting (Legacy Reports).
But when I try to upload Q2 2023 YTD data system is subtrating (Q2 minus Q1) and posting the delta it's a system behaviour I mean GR product is designed to post delta.
I followed by reversing the Q1 2023 data in period 004/2023 and Q2 2023 in period 007/2023 etc... so business can see the right finacials as per ISAS reporting (Legacy Reports) for 2 years.
Balance Carry Forward not happen due to Q4 2023 data get reverse in period 013/2023.
As per 2 years quarterly data and business wants to see opening balances in next fiscal year for cashflow reporting. Could you please suggest how to meet business requirement.
Thanks,
Shekher D

I would recommend not to do the reversals and stay with the periodic way of storing data in the product. GR is not designed to persist YTD data. Instead, YTD is calculated in analytics.
Hence, YTD data should be looked at in analytics by adding all data from period 0 to reporting quarter, e.g. Q3: per 0-9.
