Happy New Year, and welcome to our blog series about new features in SAP Subscription Billing!

As we leave 2023 behind us, let's look at the last features of the year, delivered in December: Billing forecast data in the Manage Subscriptions app, and the ability to define customer-specific prices when using pricing schemes.

Billing Forecast Data in the Manage Subscriptions App

You can now get an overview of billing forecast data in a chart or table view in the Manage Subscription app. On the new Billing Forecast tab, you can select a product or all products and choose a time frame for which you want to display the data. You can break down the data by month, quarter, or year, and you can toggle between the chart view and the table view.

Note that you need the new role ui_billing_forecast_view to be able to see the billing forecast data.

Customer-Specific Prices

If you're using pricing schemes, you can now define prices for specific customers. You use the standard external field customerId to do this.

  1. In the Manage Lookup Tables app, define a new lookup table containing customerId as one of the lookup table inputs:
  2. In the Manage Price Element Specifications app, use the lookup table in a pricing tree to determine the price:

In the Rate Plan Simulation API, the /simulations (POST) endpoint has been updated with the customerId attribute to allow you to simulate customer-specific prices based on pricing schemes.

Those were our highlights from December, thanks for reading today’s blog post! ☁️
