Welcome to our blog series about SAP Subscription Billing’s new features!
This week we are happy to share several features that were recently released: Configurable products, flexible pricing based on configurable products and custom properties, authorization based on markets for rate plans and string comparison in pricing trees. Let’s have a look together in detail:
Configure products with attributes
You can now customize the product of a subscription item by defining configuration attributes and their respective values. You use configuration attributes, for example, to offer a tailored product or to price a product differently based on certain characteristics.
First, you specify in the Products app which products are configurable. Second, you enter the attributes of your choice into the relevant subscription items, either when you create the subscription or when you edit the items.
Configure mappings for price-relevant fields
You can now customize your pricing model by mapping subscription attributes to additional, price-relevant fields used in a pricing scheme. You create custom references or configuration attributes on subscription item level and then map them to the corresponding fields in a pricing scheme.
This feature allows you to define a flexible pricing model and support more complex pricing scenarios.

Assign markets to rate plans
You can now assign markets to new rate plans and change market assignments for existing ones. Only markets that users are authorized for can be selected for the assignment.

String Comparison in Pricing Trees
There is a new comparator component available in the pricing tree of Price Calculation. You can now use this comparator to compare an external string field with another one or a constant value and make different processing depending on the value.
