Welcome to our blog series about SAP Subscription Billing’s new features!
This week we’re presenting a new look and feel of our entire solution, as well as two new features about pricing definition and the creation of subscriptions. Let’s see together what’s new:
New Launchpad Replaces Home View and Side Navigation
SAP Subscription Billing now has the standard SAP Fiori launchpad design for the entry page. The apps are shown as tiles that you click to open. The launchpad also enables you to personalize the view, for example, by grouping the tiles as you wish, or by choosing between different light and dark themes.

The previous
Home view and the side navigation are no longer available. You can still get an overview of new and expiring subscriptions for each customer in the Customers app. And you can find billing totals in the Customers, Bills and License-Relevant Usage apps (each has a different view on the data).

Price Modelling with One-Time and Recurring Credits
You can now not only define usage-based credits, but also model prices with recurring and one-time credits. This allows you, for example, to offer a one-time credit with each new subscription with a long contract duration, making the purchase more appealing to potential customers.
Credits are set up in the rate element in the Business Configuration app, where you can now choose the billing type
Credit for all types of rate elements.
Billing Type Setting of the Rate Element
The prices table of the subscription items has been enhanced accordingly to allow you to easily distinguish between charges and credits. Credits appear as negative amounts and are applied accordingly to the total amount for the corresponding rating type.

Batch Creation of Subscriptions via the API
In the Subscriptions API, the generic batch endpoint "
/$batch" now supports a new operation, "
POST on subscriptions", which makes it possible to create a set of new subscriptions in one go. Take a look at the documentation in the
API Hub and our
API Guide to learn how to define the batch request.
That's all about our latest features! Thank you for reading today’s blog post!
