ENHANCEMENTS
Learn more about the following new features and capabilities.
Data Access to SAP S/4HANA (for Group Reporting) and SAP BW/4HANA
With DM Stack 1700, you can import disclosure data from SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW/4HANA. Both deployment options – on-premise and cloud – are supported. This allows you to use existing queries and views and enables a fast and secure data transmission from SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW/4HANA. In short, it speeds up the disclosure process.
You can also access data from
SAP S/4HANA for Group Reporting. For more information, see

SAP S/4HANA for group reporting delivers the last mile of reporting with SAP Disclosure Management and the
SAP Help.
Support of Multi-Instance Installation and Update of DM SERVER - TASK ENGINE 10.1
In lower DM Stacks, you could only install a single instance of DM SERVER - TASK ENGINE 10.1 on the same server machine. As of DM Stack 1700, the DM SERVER - TASK ENGINE 10.1 setup supports multi-instance installations on a single server machine. You can also update an existing DM SERVER - TASK ENGINE 10.1 instance using the setup without a prior deinstallation.
For more information, see the
Installation and Upgrade Guide.
Multiple Microsoft Word Reports Assigned To Single iXBRL Report
In lower DM Stacks, you could assign only one Microsoft Word document to an iXBRL report. As of DM Stack 1700, you can tag chapters from different Microsoft Word reports and use them in a single iXBRL report.
A new parameter “Word report used to create” is available in the iXBRL report configuration. This parameter allows you to select which linked Microsoft Word report is the leading one.
For more information, see the
SAP Help Portal.
Use Report Content as a Chapter in Another Report
With linked chapters, you can reuse chapters from other Microsoft Word reports. With DM Stack 1700, you can now also link complete reports as a single chapter. With this new feature, you can for example combine existing reports into a new one. For this purpose, a new chapter type “Linked Report” has been introduced.
For more information, see the
SAP Help Portal.
New Plugin for Validation of iXBRL Documents
While it is already possible to create previews for iXBRL documents since DM Stack 1401, we have introduced a new plugin for validating iXBRL documents with DM Stack 1700. This brand-new plugin can be downloaded from the Software Downloads on SAP Support Portal as “IXBRL VALIDATION PLUGIN 10.1” and will be visible in the SAP DM Application Server as “XBRL - Mapping inline – Validate”.
You can run a validation according to various scenarios:
- Standard: Validation with general validation and calculation
- SEC: EDGAR rules executed additionally
- ESEF: ESEF rules executed additionally
The results are sorted and written to a Microsoft Excel file.
For more information, see the
SAP Help Portal.
IMPROVEMENTS
Support of Microsoft Windows Server 2019
With DM Stack 1700, both DM SERVER - APPL SERVER 10.1 and DM SERVER - TASK ENGINE 10.1 can be installed and/or updated on Microsoft Windows Server 2019. You can also install DM Client 10.1 and DM XBRL Mapper 10.1 on this operating system.
Multi-Language Support for XBRL Mapper
In lower DM releases, the DM XBRL MAPPER 10.1 was only available in English. With DM Stack 1700, it is available in the very same languages as the rest of SAP Disclosure Management. The language in which the XBRL Mapper is displayed is configured via the “Configuration” button in the DM Client. As a result, the DM Client and the XBRL Mapper will always be shown in the same language.
New Delta Update of 'web.config'
With DM Stack 1700, when you update an existing DM SERVER - APPL SERVER 10.1, a (delta) update of the 'web.config' file is possible. This is new with DM Stack 1700 as with earlier DM Stacks, you had to apply custom changes manually after completion of the update process. Now you can choose between resetting the configuration to delivery state by choosing “Default Update” and to apply only required changes to your custom configuration without overwriting it entirely by choosing “Custom Update”.
