In case you want to use data from Business Planning and Consolidation, you could use a data-source in Disclosure Management (i.e. a BW data-source for BPC-NW or an SQL data-source for BPC-MS)
However, this is not always desirable, as it requires creation of (SQL) queries and business users may not have this knowledge (nor know the table structures of BPC)
An alternative is to use the EPM or AO add-in (in conjunction with the DM client)
